I think I did!

Yesterday, throughout the evening, I kept having fleeting feelings/thoughts/memories(?). It was so very strange. It took me a couple hours of these little interruptions to even pin down what the thought/feeling/scene was. It was THAT fleeting. For some reason, I kept having these little flashes of being at a fair or festival somewhere in Europe with a family with little kids and having fun. WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT? Was it something I had seen in a movie, read in a book, or maybe I dreamed at some point? Or was I visiting a past life? Or a future life? It wouldn't have struck me as odd if I hadn't had so many of these little sceneflashes over just a few hours. I think I time travelled. Awesome.

Remembering

For 2 years, I hardly picked up my bass. Sometimes I'd entertain C6 with a speedpunk medley of The ABC Song/Twinkle Twinkle Little Star/Baa Baa Black Sheep, but that was pretty much it. My fingers are starting to remember how to be in sync with my brain. Scraping off the rust. It feels good to play again. Playing again feels like a Welcome Home Party for a part of me that has been away on a long journey.

seriously addicted...

Okay, I just have to say that I am seriously, SERIOUSLY addicted to "The Upside Down Show". (Or as C6 calls it "Shane and David! FUNNY!" We can't get enough of it. Hooray for Comcast "on demand"!

LEAF PILE!

Laying in a humungous leaf pile next to a grinning C6, looking up at the leaves and clear blue sky and airplanes and pinecones on a brisk Autumn day is my idea of A Very Good Time Indeed.

Hallowe'enie

This year I carved a JACK-O-LANTERN for the first time in...I can't remember how many years! It was WICKED FUN!!!! Young Calvin helped scoop out all of the GUTS and we had a great, slimey, messy time. It made me happy to start what will become a Hallowe'en tradition with my son. The jack-o-lantern was very old-school - you know, triangles for eyes and nose, and a big smiley mouth. (Maybe next year we'll go more SCAREY) Our jack-o-lantern wasn't one of those Martha-Stewart-carve-a-complex-festive-Hallowe'en-scene-on-a-pumpkin jack-o-lanterns. Ours is the REAL DEAL. TRAD!

Oh! And we even roasted up the pumpkin seeds. When was the last time you had fresh roasted pumpkin seeds? So simple. So good. Another new tradition for our little family.

It made me a little sad that we only got ONE trick or treater this year. ONE!!!! Anyone want any Hershey Bars, Milky Ways, or Nestles Crunchbars? Sorry, you can't have the Tootsie Pops - C6 is all about the "Yollypops" these days. Hence, my new grape drool accented hairdo.
