The boy likes the music.

C6 cracks me up. His favorite song these days is "All These Things That I have Done" by The Killers. Whenever it comes on the radio his eyes get real wide and he smiles...in the middle of the song when it breaks down to a guitar chunk he gets so psyched, cuz he knows the "I got soul, but I'm not a soldier" part is coming up - to which he enjoys clapping along, huge grin on his face. Hahhahh!!!

Here he is on the beach at Plum Island at the beginning of September. Remember when it was sunny?

Oh nooOOoOoo!

Yes, hi.

Long time, long time.

Since Lexi put a link here... um, I'd better write a little somethin'-somethin'.

Things are goodgoodgood! I spend most of my time stooped over running after C6 and. Man, that boy is speedy. We like to listen to the They Might Be Giants cd "Here Come The ABCs" - we got the dvd too and it is really a lot of fun. My favorite song is about the letters D and W:

My boy D, Commander D, the well-known D
D's getting on in years so he moves a little bit slower now
D is shy and doesn't get out of the house much anymore
And then there's W, here comes W
It's double wide, it cannot hide its pride, it's W
They call it W, there's that W
It thinks it's king, its all-time favorite thing is W
D: W, you think you're so great.
W: Well, I am pretty big.
D: Yeah, you're okay. You're just not as great as you think you are.
W: How come I never see you around anymore, D?
D: I got this big TV set at home now. And I like to watch the sports.

HAHhrh - the best part of the song is the very end - instead of saying "I like to watch sports", D says "I like to watch THE sports". And that is what makes it brilliant.

You can see the video for D and W on
this website.

That is it for now!

Porch Sittin' Weather

This morning, C6 and I had breakfast on the porch. Methinks the boy enjoys porch sittin' as much as his mum does. And that would be LOTS.

Rock And Roll Parents And Their Kids

A few weeks ago, C6 and i did a little photoshoot with Kelly Davidson, who does really gorgeous work. It was fun! We are going to be part of an exhibit of Kelly's called ROCK AND ROLL PARENTS...AND THEIR KIDS. And hey, lookit! We're in Kelly's press release!

The exhibit will be at the Art Market Gallery
36 South Street
Jamaica Plain

...Is this what it has come to???? Nooooo!!!!!

hello.

just a random musing...i was conversing with jeff yesterday - he's got a baby boy too - and conversation veered into baby poop territory. ahhhh! is this what our lives have come to???!!! hHAHHR. i gotta get out more!

it has been a long winter and though i have been having tons of fun with C6, i really need to get out and do a few non-baby things. well, i *did* get out to the abbey for the dents record release and that was lots of fun. i had been to the abbey a couple weeks prior to that, not to see a show, just for a beer or 2 with buddies, testing the waters, as it were.

i can't wait for the snow to melt. i mean, i do like winter. just not this much of it, already!

c6 and i are going to the northshore mall today - hooray for the baby pram brigade!

off to scrape the dried baby food off my cheek...

luv,

C6 and Me.

You may wonder, "hey, what's it like to be a mum, eh?"

Well!

It's pretty dang fun is what it is. Mostly, my days are filled with all kind of good stuff. We dance our butts off, shaking rattles to the tunes of C6's dance, baby, dance! musical bandstand. C6's dance of choice is "the worm" as he can't sit up or stand just yet! We have a bubble party, where I break out the bubblewater and amaze C6 with a room full of bubbles. Then it's storytime. Or maybe art time! (We tried fingerpainting and it was good, messy fun!) Sometimes we have a parade up and down the hallway. Often I will serenade him with bits of song...yesterday it was "Rollin' on the River" complete with froggy fingerpuppet singing the backup parts. HAhrhAHR!!!

So, yeah. I'm having fun!
